This chromite project in Indonesia, with the Cr2O3 of 9%, was classified as poor chromite. The main metallic minerals in the chromite ore included chromite, magnetite, a little ilmenite and ferrous manganese ore. The main gangue minerals included quartz, calcite and chlorite. For developing the resource with reasonable economy and reliable technology, Xinhai had been delegated by the client to conduct the experimental research as the technical base.

Xinhai recommended the combined process of gravity concentration and magnetic separation. Chrome concentrate with the Cr2O3 of 31.03% and chrome recovery rate of 65.10% could be obtained.
